Using the Areas of Expertise

How to find a needle in the Councils haystack

A unique feature of the CUNA Communities is something called "Areas of Expertise".

Areas of Expertise is a section in your Profile allowing you to identify your super powers to your peers. By marking areas you manage or subjects you know a lot about, it creates information that can be used in Advanced Search.

Why would you want to do this?

Easy! The more members that fill out Areas of Expertise, the easier it is find someone who can help with a specific issue or question.

Step 1:  Fill out your Areas of Expertise

  • Visit your Profile and scroll down
  • Click Add and select your choices in any area where you may have knowledge (this is not Council specific)

Step 2:  Use Areas of Expertise to search for peers

  • Under the Directory menu option, choose Find a Community Member
  • Click the Advanced tab
  • Scroll down to find the Areas of Expertise
